MCMS Band Director

Mrs. Emily Gibson

Mrs. Emily Gibson is the new band director for the Montgomery County School System.  

After graduating from high school in north Georgia, she got her bachelor's degree in instrumental music from Berea College in Berea, Kentucky. She then received her teacher certification from Berry College in Rome, Georgia. 

Mrs. Gibson has had a range of positions within the Fine Arts. She was at Scott County High School in Tennessee for 5 years, where she taught band, chorus, and guitar. After moving back to Georgia, she taught private music lessons for 2 years. She then taught chorus, musical theatre, drama, and piano in Putnam County for 7 years. Following that, she taught chorus in Butts County for 1 year.

She has been teaching Band and Chorus at Montgomery since Fall 2019.
