GRADE LEVEL COMMUNICATION
Dr. Scott Barrow -MCMS Principal
Dear Students, Parents, and Stakeholders,
As we begin a new school year at Montgomery County Middle & High School, my goals are to maintain a safe and orderly environment, continue a fair and consistent approach with students and staff, and constantly look for ways to put our students and staff in the best position possible to be successful.
A safe and orderly environment is of utmost importance. Continuously looking for and implementing ways to keep our students and staff safe will be at the forefront of all decisions. Proper procedures will be in place for emergency situations so that students and staff not only know what to do in these type situations but have practiced them to fidelity. Once students feels safe and cared about, they can then learn most effectively.
Continuing a fair and consistent approach with students and staff is very important. Having expectations clearly shared for the sake of the whole school helps teachers and staff understand their role in a school running smoothly. In an effort to maintain good school culture, fairness needs to be evident followed by consistency.
Finally, I would like to constantly look for ways to put our students and staff in the best position to be successful. I plan to implement a shared leadership approach where students, staff, and parents have a way to express their views, so that a variety of individuals have input on school decision making.
I want to make sure our schools maintain a safe and orderly environment, continue a fair and consistent approach with students and staff, and constantly look for ways to put our students and staff in the best position possible to be successful. As these items are accomplished, we hope to see more and more students become college and career ready.

As of November 1, the Department of Education has published its new financial data reporting tool as required by HB 139. The reporting system can be found at the following link:
HB 139 required the aggregation and publication of a variety of financial information for all school districts, such as revenue and expenditure data, capital construction costs, recent audits, and similar reports. All of the information on this site consists of data and other information which the Department already collects and in most cases published in some existing form, or which is collected and published by another department within state government such as the Department of Audits and Accounts. HB 139 required the centralization of this information into a single website, which is the purpose of this new reporting system.
